Self confidence, having confidence in yourself and your abilities. This is a highly dangerous concept human race had to face time to time. We had to face dictators, saviors, scientists, philosophers, artists who used their self confidence in destructive and harmful ways. Recently, happened to see some songs of a movie, well, there isn't much to contradict. The movie is the result of the self confidence of a defiant person, who believes his ""abilities"" are singing, composing, writing, narrating, acting, dancing, directing and unexplored hidden talents. The world is open to anyone who has ""abilities"" to express them and mark their presence in history. And thus it was created ‘Krishnanum Radhayum’. Youtube is fortunate these days because of these talented artists using that as a medium to bring forth their efforts. Everybody who has access to internet and who do not, who understands Malayalam and who do not, has seen these songs. Did you find it amusing? Entertaining or annoying?
You might find it entertaining, well it makes you laugh in the beginning, that is for sure, and not everybody has that talent, but after a couple of seconds your laughter will die, from then the viewers can be divided into two.
The ones who watches it with the ugly satisfaction of watching a porno, and the ones who gasp and sigh and abuse the artist. But the point is, we all watched it, the artist is famous. The philosophy behind watching the videos and making the videos are same, the motivation is same, self satisfaction. Unlike any other animal alive or dead, Man is the only creature with sexual urge through out the year, all the rest has specific seasons for it, obviously thats why only humans are over populated and not monkeys. And there are infinite number of ways in which this all-year sexually aroused animal satisfies its needs, you call it making a movie or acting in a movie. The artist hails from Kerala, gods own country. The cultural values keep the boys and girls in separate iron walls from the time they are born. The culture that holds umbrellas to boys when they cross the limits and the culture that throws girls into molten furnaces when they even think of crossing the lines. The society once condemned a director for making his heroine character jump the walls of a ladies hostel, the society that still thinks women are fire and men are explosives!!!!! From the childhood, men grow up in bottled up curiosity and frustration, they see girls a distant dream of theirs, fantasies. Well girls have no much choice anyways, they get to suppress a lot of other things as well, so the sexual curiosity or fantasies come only next in line to other things like recognition in the family or striving to meet the expectations. Story continues, Malayalee boys grow up enjoying all the freedom they want in everything, except for this one basic natural freedom of theirs, to mingle with girls and know more. The bottled up soda is constantly is shaken by Hollywood, Bollywood, ""contemporary Malayalam cinema"", serials, news, books, blah blah blah blah.........Two options, either give complete freedom to boys to mingle with girls and learn their own limits (അയ്യോ!! കൊള്ളാം നല്ല കാര്യം!!! പിന്നെ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കേണ്ടി വരില്ല!!! അതൊന്നും നമ്മുടെ സംസ്കാരത്തിന് ചേര്ന്നതല്ല!! അങ്ങനെ തന്തോന്നികള് ആവാന് വിടാന് പറ്റില്ല!!!! )) or number two: take off all their freedom. Don't create sexually frustrated generations of men and boys. Lest like our artist, more of them will find their way out!!!!!!
The heroine, (or the child artist?) is thriving to be famous, and only that is her aim. Whether her family, (ഇതിനെ ഒക്കെ വീട്ടീന്ന് വിടുന്നല്ലോ ഇങ്ങനെ ഒക്കെ വേഷം കെട്ടാന്, അവരെ തല്ലണം ആദ്യം!!!! ) had known about the peculiar ""height differences of the hero Kutty and heroine Kutty"" is questionable. And had they known, will they send their child to be abused, oh sorry, to be given an exclusive opportunity to be a star??
The cause for the sprouting of such highly entertaining videos, is our stringent ways of upbringing, our ludicrous ways of portraying the two sexes as dangerous materials to be brought together, our exceptional Malayalee perception. Posted comments to those videos, are a University to anyone who wants to learn the basics till the advanced levels of Malayalam language. Hari Shankar deserved only one fourth of what he received, even though he had two foreign ladies available he only made them dance to his tune, he did not allow such absurdities of height differences being utilized.
Back to the self confidence of our artist, yes he believes, very very firmly, that everything people says about his video is because they want to shove him off from becoming famous, the already famous artists are threatened by his talents that they want to stop his success. Honestly, is he and the society around him, his immediate family, his immediate friends and the crew behind this movie, do they all believe in his self confidence as much as him???? Why did no one slap that girl and bring her to senses, or if she was that desperate to act, why did no one take her to a ""thumbi"" or ""thoni"" directorial efficiencies??? Talents and abilities should be redefined and made understood......
or may be no.........
because if such videos are not there, what will we watch when we get together for a laughter and drink?, what will we talk about?? or write about??? Hail youtube, Hail pandits....Hail all such artists......
